Buyer Frequently Asked Questions
Do you show only properties listed for sale with Re/Max?
Absolutely not, we will look at properties with every real estate company. When real estate agents list a property for sale, they use the multiple listing service; which means they will cooperate with all agents who have a prospective buyer interested in the property.
How do I find out about new properties?
We can help you there! We should be able to accommodate your particular situation whether it is via email, phone calls, etc. Clients with email capability can receive automatic updates from the MLS system as soon as new listings are entered.
Who pays you to sell me a property?
When listings are on MLS, in most circumstances it is the owner of the property.
Is there GST or PST on the purchase of a property?
No, not in circumstances where you are buying an existing property. Sometimes in new construction, vacant land, revenue and commercial properties there might be GST and PST.
What if I see an advertisement or sign for a private sale? What if I see a property I like in the Winnipeg Real Estate News or MLS.ca that isn’t for sale?
Call us! We can always act on your behalf in a private transaction. Also, we have access to all of the information on all of those properties at my fingertips. All real estate professionals cooperate with one another to sell homes.
What if I find a property on my own?
You should contact me and not the property owner or the agent listing the property. Having the address or the MLS listing number is very helpful and will assist your agent in gathering information regarding the property.
Can I go to open houses without my agent?
You can go to open houses without your agent. However you need to make sure that you indicate that you are working with an agent already.
What other fees do I have to pay?
Other fees may include insurance, taxes and lawyer fees.
