Home Buying from Start to Finish 

 

  1. Find a home that is suitable through the elimination process.

 

  1. Write offer – offer will be accepted, declined or countered.

 

  1. Give copies of accepted offer to your bank and lawyer.

 

  1. Practise due diligence in removing conditions. (Ex: home inspection, financing, lawyers approval, water testing, engineers report.)

 

  1. Remove conditions on offer, making it a firm deal. A conditions removal form must be signed.

 

  1. Visit Lawyer to sign title papers and review closing costs.

At this time you will receive your keys and any other paper work regarding the home. (Survey, memorandum, existing warranties etc)

 

  1. Possession day – Ensure you read your water, hydro and gas meters prior to moving in. Walk thru house to make sure all inclusions are there and the house is in the same condition as when you viewed it.

 

  1. Call your agent & lawyer to report anything that seems wrong with the house at that time.
